To be or to be or to be or to be?
On the occasion of Shakespeare’s 454th birthday, the Landmark with the co-operation of the British Council is proud to invite you to the screenings of six different productions of Hamlet – five British productions, from 1948 to 2015, and the great Russian version directed by Grigori Kozintsev. All films will be shown in English with English subtitles, except the Kosintsev Hamlet which is in Russian. The films and theatre performances show work by today’s greatest Shakespearean directors and actors including Laurence Olivier, Kenneth Branagh, Patrick Stewart, David Tennant, and Derek Jacobi, and the latest version, starring Maxine Peake. Each version transforms and reimagines Shakespeare’s work – come and decide which you judge to be the best (that is the question).
Entrance is free. As we have limited spaces, seating will be on a first come first seated basis.
