Synopsis: The film is about the Azerbaijan national game Chovkan. Two specially trained horses compete in the team with balls. The film is included in the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List. Rafig Guliyev's "Chovkan" film was awarded the first prize of the festival for the successful presentation of national traditions of our country in the sport.
Director’s biography: Azerbaijan cinema operator, director, screenwriter, producer and Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Rafig Guliyev was born on 27 February in 1957 in Baku. He is working in "Azərbaycanfilm" film studio. He graduated from Moscow Cinematography Institute in 1987 with a degree in "Cinema Operation". Rafig Guliyev's "Chovkan" film won the first prize of the festival for the successful presentation of the Azerbaijani national traditions in "Zlatibor-2013" International Film Festival on sports in Serbia in 2013. He was honored by the name Honored Artist of Azerbaijan in 2005. He was awarded the Shohrat (Şöhrət) for his contribution to the development of Azerbaijani cinematography in 2018.
